The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) has selected Abengoa to build two new electricity transmission lines in the country.

Under the €381m contract, the company will engineer, design, construct, maintain and commission the two transmission lines.

Both lines will cover 377km and are expected to come into operation in 2017.

As part of the first concession, the company will build a 240km transmission line from Oriximina-Juruti and Juruti-Parintins in the state of Para.

"The company will engineer, design, construct, maintain and commission the two transmission lines."

In addition to this, the company will also construct four substations in the municipalities of Oriximina, Juruti, Parintins and Jurupari.

The second concession will include constructing the 137km Parauapebas-Integradora Sossego, Integradora Sossego-Xinguara II transmission line as well as three substations.

Abengoa has more than 20,000km of transmission projects of this type, and specifically in Brazil, where it has been involved in developing nearly 10,000km of infrastructures for electricity distribution in the country.
