Caterpillar to Offer Unparalleled Product Support Benefits for Pleasure Craft Engines
Increased Extended Service Coverage (ESC) and Marine Advantage to Launch at Miami International Boat Show
Recognizing the value of an engine is not solely measured by performance, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems is pleased to announce the availability of two product support initiatives, the Marine Advantage program and additional Extended Service Coverage (ESC) plans, specifically for pleasure craft engines. The new Marine Advantage program enables customers to receive complete coverage on Cat® engines for up to ten years, a best-in-class warranty program. Building on the initial success of the Extended Service Coverage (ESC) program for pleasure craft customers, Caterpillar is also now offering the ESC Platinum and Platinum Plus coverage plans to ensure maximum owner confidence in vessels powered by Cat engines.
“We want to provide our pleasure craft customers with unparalleled support in both products and services,” said David Shannon, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems Pleasure Craft Global Sales Manager. “We realize the value of providing our customers with peace of mind and are thrilled to offer these customers support programs designed to guarantee complete confidence in their Cat products.”
Caterpillar has expanded the Extended Service Coverage program to include two additional coverage periods for the ESC Platinum and Platinum Plus plans. The ESC Platinum plan is now available for a period of 300 hours per year for 36, 48 or 60 months or unlimited hours of usage during the same 36, 48 or 60 month period. The Platinum plan provides coverage on all original factory equipment as shipped from the factory with Cat parts numbers, excluding marine controls and displays as well as some consumables such as filters, hoses and belts. The ESC Platinum Plus plan is also available for the same 36, 48 or 60 month period and at 300 hours or unlimited hours of usage and offers coverage of all equipment included in the ESC Platinum Plan, plus marine controls and displays as well as additional Cat parts and
components, installed by the Cat dealer and having a Cat part number. Both ESC plans are available only for new engines and coverage can be transferred to future owners.
“We’ve developed these additional ESC coverage plans to offer customers flexibility in determining their coverage options based on their specific vessel applications,” commented Cat Insurance Account Executive Roger Oaks. “Both coverage plans were designed with the pleasure craft customer in mind and developed to complement the outstanding capabilities of the global Cat dealer network.”
With the newly created Marine Advantage program, Caterpillar can now provide customers with complete coverage of their Cat engines for up to ten years. After market trends indicated end users were utilizing their pleasure craft vessels for longer durations of time, Caterpillar developed the Marine Advantage plan to support the marketplace and provide vessel owners with guaranteed confidence in their engines and generator sets. The Marine Advantage program builds on the two year standard warranty program and both five year ESC programs offered by Caterpillar. The program is eligible on both new and used vessels and coverage is transferred at no additional cost.
“We want to delight all of our customers, whether they are casual users or extreme with their yachts. For Caterpillar, delighting our customers involves creating product coverage programs tailored to their needs and usage preferences,” Shannon noted. “We developed the Marine Advantage program strictly with our customers in mind so they can operate their vessels for longer periods of time with guaranteed performance.”
Caterpillar will have experienced marine professionals on hand at the Miami International Boat Show February 17th – 20th to discuss both Marine Advantage and the new ESC coverage plans. Please stop by the Caterpillar booth located in the Engine Tent to learn more about these exciting new product support programs.
