South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine and Engineering, on June 25th, held sail away ceremony for CLOV FPSO at E-quay. Around 70 honored guests attended the event, including Mr. Jean-michel Lavergne the managing director of Total E&P Angola.
Recently DSME has accelerated its progress in preparation for sail away. On 14th June, DSME operated the four gas turbine generators and successfully completed the synchronizing test. Gas turbine generators are the most important equipment at the topside module as they produce electric power maximum 112MW.
In addition, DSME achieved 14 million safe working hours on the CLOV FPSO. Based on this remarkable record, DSME has chosen HSE initiative first winner at the TOTAL HSE Award on 19th June in France. DSME’s HSE team successfully managed safe regulations including enclosed spaces such as oil tanks, ballast tanks, and small spaces. TOTAL was so impressed with DSME’s enclosed space management system that they want to apply it to other offshore projects in the future.
CLOV FPSO is 305m long, 61m wide, and will be able to reach a production plateau of 160,000 barrels of crude oil per day as well as having the capacity to store up to approximately 1.7 million barrels in volume.
