CELECTRA - Power and Distribution Transformer Accessories

CELECTRA is a manufacturer of components and accessories for electric power and distribution transformers. CELECTRA's product range includes oil level indicators, Buchholz relays, dehydrating breathers, and terminal boxes.

Oil level indicators

Oil level magnetic indicators are used to control in a visual and/or electrical manner the volume variations of liquids in tanks, reservoirs or machines. They are perfectly airtight and can be used in severe conditions without impairing the active part or contact points. CELECTRA's oil level indicators are manufactured according to proven technical criteria and internationally accepted standards. They also have several optional features that make them easy to use in a wide range of electrical transformer applications.

Oil level indicators may be supplied according to customers' needs in different materials and with different viewers, varied coupling flanges, special electric configurations, radial or axial activation, usage classes for controlled atmospheres or submersibles or even other uses from a specific design.

Buchholz relays

Buchholz relays are used in most oil insulated electric transformers where there is an expansion tank. Buchholz relays are particularly efficient in detecting and capturing gases that may form inside the transformers and for instant system shut down in case of a serious defect.

CELECTRA Buchholz relays are built with solid, high-capacity reed-type contacts that are very reliable, making them appropriate for general use and in vibration-prone designs as well as for those that are exposed to shaking and seismic activity (AS models).

CELECTRA Buchholz relays are individually numbered, calibrated and tested and are supplied together with the proper reports for future reference or tracking. Many electrical, mechanical or special configuration requests may be executed.

Dehydrating breathers

Dehydrating breathers are used to remove moisture from the air coming into the transformer or tanks containing liquid substances. The device is installed in the breather pipe from the transformer's expansion tank (or from other equipment).

Dehydrating breathers are usually installed at ground level for easier checking as well as the identification of the right time to replace or regenerate the drying element (silica-gel). This guarantees longer periods without failures caused by alteration in the moisture.

Terminal boxes for transformers

A terminal box is designed to enable the electrical connection of the elements within a transformer to the external elements in an airtight and reliable manner that ensures years of trouble-free operation.

CELECTRA's terminal boxes are built with solid corrosion-resistant aluminium with pass-through terminal bushings that are fixed in such a manner as not to permit any leakage of the insulating oil and to ensure the airtight status of the mounted unit. Due to its small quantity of bushings it is quite an economical option to be used as a grounding box for the nucleus and the transformer fittings without losing access to external measurements.

CELECTRA also produces many complementary accessories which can make installation more flexible, such as reduction bushings for M12 screws, borne bridges and borne-to-earth bridges, and circuit identification signs.
