Market conditions for NORDEN in dry cargo and tankers sector in the third quarter of 2012 were significantly worse than in the same period last year. The company has reported operating earnings (EBITDA) of USD 23 million for this year, down for 13 million when compared to the last year’s score.
Despite the figures, NORDEN continues to optimise the core fleet through sales and contracting of new fuel efficient tonnage.
Since the beginning of the third quarter, the company has sold 7 dry cargo vessels and contracted 2 Handysize tanker vessels and 1 ice-class Panamax dry cargo vessel.
This week, NORDEN has sold two Kamsarmax units, NORD AQUILA (built 2012) and NORD AQUARIUS (built 2011), for a total of USD 44 mill to UK buyers, Lion Shipbrokers said in their latest Weekly Report.
