DMCA Takes Part in Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government entity in-charge of regulating and supervising all aspects of the maritime sector in Dubai, has announced its participation at the Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition, which will take place from November 27 to 29, 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

DMCA, through its specialized pavilion, aims to provide a platform for key decision makers and stakeholders in the maritime sector to discuss important maritime-related issues.

DMCA’s participation reaffirms its role in supporting maritime activities in Dubai, as part of the first-of-its kind Dubai Maritime Week 2012 being organized by DMCA with the close cooperation of Seatrade. Through the Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition, DMCA will create opportunities for discussions about best practices and safety related issues in the maritime sector in Dubai. DMCA will also showcase various aspects that promote and regulate the maritime sector and enhance Dubai’s position as a leading international maritime destination. The event will also facilitate the sharing of international best practices that Dubai adopts in line with the emirate’s maritime sector strategy.

Amer Ali, CEO of DMCA, said: “Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition is one of the most prestigious networking events for stakeholders in the regional and international maritime industry, presenting an excellent platform to discuss all maritime issues and DMCA’s ongoing initiatives and long-term strategic plans. Moreover, Dubai is increasingly becoming the region’s leading maritime hub and there is certainly a growing interest in DMCA’s role as the regulating and supervising entity in the emirate’s maritime sector. Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition therefore serves as an ideal venue for DMCA to engage in meaningful discussions and interaction with stakeholders of the region’s maritime industry about key maritime issues and strategy in Dubai.”

The Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition will feature the ‘Seatrade Middle East & Indian Subcontinent Awards’ and ‘Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition & Conference’. In collaboration with several strategic partners from Dubai Government, DMCA, during Dubai Maritime Week 2012 will host a range of maritime industry-related activities and events, including conferences, panel discussions and forums, as well as public-oriented activities to celebrate Dubai’s maritime heritage.
