Emerson Process Management to automate Chinese power station


China Resources Power Holdings has selected Emerson Process Management to automate two new ultra-supercritical units of 1000MW Puqi power plant in China.

Under the contract, Emerson will provide 64 redundant Ovation controllers and 23 workstations while the Shanghai Electric will be supply the boiler and turbine for the units, which are currently under construction.

The new ultra-super critical units are expected to begin commercial operation in 2012.

Currently, the power plant consists of two coal-fired units of 600MW capacity, which were equipped with Ovation technology in 2004.
