E.ON Russia has commissioned two new combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) units of 400MW each at its Surgutskaya GRES-2 power station in West-Siberia.
The units use advanced technology and steam gas designs and have a 55.9% efficiency rate.
Dr Bernhard Reutersberg, member of the E.ON AG Board of Management, said at the official commissioning ceremony: "The commissioning of two new power units constructed using the most advanced technologies shows that we are committed to completely fulfilling our obligations on time - and to further developing our long-term relations with Russia."
The company said the total volume of capacities commissioned under its €2.8bn investment programme is now 2,400MW.
