GDF SUEZ and International Power has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Ontario Power Authority (OPA) to secure the entire output from its two 99MW wind farms being constructed in Ontario, Canada.
Under the 20-year agreement, OPA will gain power generated from the 99MW Erieau and 99MW East Lake St Clair wind projects.
The estimated cost of each project is €214m.
The companies also plan to start the construction of the 99MW Cape Scott 1 wind farm in British Columbia, Canada, which is estimated to cost €214m.
The project has a 20-year PPA with British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority and is scheduled to commence operations in 2013.
