Port Klang Authority chairman Teh Kim Poohas has revealed that approval has been given to build a third container terminal by 2012.
The move is based on forecasts that predict demand at the existing Northport and Westport terminals will be exhausted by 2016, he said.
In 2010, combined throughput amounted to 8.87m teu and is forecast to reach 9.6m teu this year.
