“Low production in May due is due to planned maintenance in several fields and technical problems on Alvheim, Njord and Snorre,” said the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate in a statement today.
“Production for May was slightly below the NPD's forecasts but still above forecasts for the year so far.”
Production on the Alvheim field was shut-in for a total of 13 days for unplanned maintenance on the FPSO’s fire prevention system.
Njord was shut in temporarily following a gas leak on the platform.
Of the 1.829 million bpd, oil accounted for 1.541 million barrels, while natural gas liquids and condensate accounted for 221,000 barrels and 66 000 barrels respectively.
Meanwhile, gas flows were down to 6.3 billion standard cubic meter, a decrease of 1.1 Bcm from the previous month
