Russia's largest independent gas producer Novatek saw its second quarter gas output rising 44 percent to 12.13 billion cubic metres (bcm) compared to the same period last year, it said on Friday.
The company, one of Russia's largest producers of gas condensate, also said its liquids production rose 17.8 percent during the April-June period to 1 million tonnes compared to last year's volume.
Novatek's production assets are in Russia's Arctic Yamal Nenets region where it is also set to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility for the production of up to 16 million tonnes of the frozen gas per year starting in 2015-2017.
