South Korean refiners have suspended bunker loadings due to Typhoon Tembin, refining sources said Thursday.
GS Caltex halted bunker loading at 9 pm (1200 GMT) Wednesday at its 765,000 b/d Yeosu refinery in the south, Busan terminal in the southeast and also at Incheon and Kunsan on the west coast, a company source said.
S-Oil suspended loadings at its 669,000 b/d Onsan refinery in the southeast at 9 am (0000 GMT) Thursday, while Hyundai Oilbank halted bunker loading at its 390,000 b/d Daesan refinery in the west and Busan terminal Thursday morning, company sources said.
Bunker loading was suspended Monday due to Typhoon Boleven and had resumed only on Wednesday.
Typhoon Tembin made landfall in the southern part of the country around 10:45 am Thursday local time, Korea Meteorological Administration said on its website. The typhoon is in the south of the country as of 1 pm local time, moving northeast at a speed of 40 kph, according to the meteorological data.
