The Shaw Group has secured an engineering, procurement and construction contract from Entergy Louisiana for the construction of a dual-fuel 550MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant in Louisiana, US.
The plant, which can be fuelled with coal and biomass, is expected to commence commercial operations by mid 2015.
Entergy Louisiana president and CEO Bill Mohl said that this investment in a modern, clean and efficient plant will help his company satisfy the economical electricity needs of their customers in a growing region.
Shaw is also building two CCGT gas plants in North Carolina and has completed a CCGT plant in Nevada.
