Techno Electric Secures Loan to Build 101MW Wind Farm in India

Techno Electric & Engineering has secured $80m in financing for the construction of the 101MW wind farm in Tirunaveli and Coimbatore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The INR6bn ($135.04m) project received a loan of $30m each from Standard Chartered and World Bank unit International Finance while DBS has granted $20m.

Techno Electric will install 1.5MW and 2.1MW Suzlon wind turbines at the wind farm, which is expected to be complete this month.

On completion, the plant is expected to raise the company's wind capacity by 75% to 236MW, reports Bloomberg.
