The Netherlands: Fairmount CEO Speaks at Offshore Energy 2011

Fairmount Marine, a world class marine contractor for ocean towage and heavy lift transportation by (submersible) barge, parallel to activities in the field of sales & purchase, and other related services from Rotterdam are exhibiting at Offshore Energy 2011 Exhibition.

Today,  a press meeting was at their booth where the company’s CEO Albert de Heer, spoke about Fairmount’s latest towing achievements.

„When you have a floating refinery wich is twice as big as Maastoren (a 165 meter tall skyscraper) in Rotterdam, and needs to be transported from Korea to Angola, a trip 11 000 miles long, who do you call?

Fairmount

We have five largest and the most powerful ocean-going tugs wich we use to tow the largest objects in the world.

This year we towed two FPSOs , one from Korea to Angola,  and another one from Korea to Norway.

We had also towed Adriatic LNG terminal, one of the largest floating facilities in the world ever from Spain to Venice.

We  towed a lot of oil rigs, and as a Dutch company we’re very happy that we can establish our selves on the world’s scene.“

Asked about Offshore Energy Exhibition he said it was a great thing the exhibition has moved to Amsterdam Rai, one of the largest exhibition and conference centers in the Netherlands. He said that Farmount supports such an initiative made by Navingo B.V. , and Mr. De Heer also explained that he now feels this event really puts the Netherlands on the map.
