Tohoku Electric Power plans to establish a new solar power generation business in Japan in partnership with Toyota Motar Corp and the state of Miyagi.
The joint venture will use renewable energy sources to ensure stable operation at plants in the Tohoku region, where there is scarcity in electricity supply, reports Nikkei.
Tokyo Motor will supply the power generated from the new business to two of its subsidiaries, Central Motor in Ohira and Toyota Motor Tohoku in Taiwan.
The company is planning to construct a large-scale solar power generation system at a industrial complex where the two subsidiaries are located.
