Vestas has secured a contract from Powerica to supply 26 V100 1.8MW wind turbines for the Vandiya Power wind farm project in Gujarat, India.
The order for the 46.8 MW wind farm is placed by Powerica Limited, which has wind farms that currently employ Vestas' V82-1.65MW wind turbines.
Vestas will also provide a VestasOnline Business SCADA system at the farm, and turbine delivery is expected to start in the third quarter of 2011.
The company has signed a ten-year agreement to provide maintenance service for the project, which is set to save 130,000t of CO2 emissions per year.
Completion of this contract brings the total installed capacity of Powerica with Vestas units to about 100MW.
